Sydney’s food scene is thriving, and when it comes to cafes, there’s no shortage of options to choose from.
In today’s article, we’ll be exploring 10 most Instagrammable cafes here in Sydney. They’re great for photos, but they also taste absolutely fantastic. So, if you have only one cafe to visit here in Sydney, then you can choose one among all as a great place to start.
Now, let’s get ready for our first must-visit cafe in Sydney:
‘Celcius’ at Kirribili
‘Celcius’ is a small and intimate cafe located on a ferry wharf, making it a great spot to enjoy your coffee. Whether you choose to arrive by ferry from Circular Quay or take a leisurely stroll from Milsons Point, this hidden gem is worth the journey.
As you step inside, you’ll notice that ‘Celcius’ is relatively small, with only a few tables available. To make the most of your visit, I recommend coming early or visiting on weekdays to avoid the crowds. Trust me, it’s worth the effort.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the coffee. ‘Celcius’ proudly serves coffee made with ONA beans, which happens to be one of my personal favorites in Australia. If you’re a coffee enthusiast like me, you’ll definitely appreciate the quality and care that goes into each brew. But ‘Celcius’ isn’t just about coffee; their food is exceptional too.
During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Mushroom Benedict, and it blew me away. The combination of perfectly poached eggs, savory mushrooms, and creamy hollandaise sauce created a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more. This place is an Instagrammer’s dream come true.
Speedos cafe
The next must-visit cafe in Sydney is called Speedos cafe, located right on the iconic Bondi Beach. But before we dive into the cafe, I have a special recommendation for you. I highly recommend starting your day by watching the sunrise from Bondi Beach. Trust me, it’s an unforgettable experience that sets the perfect tone for your cafe-hopping adventure.
And while you’re there, don’t miss the opportunity to admire the Bondi Icebergs pool, adding a touch of serenity to the vibrant beach scene. Now, let’s head to Speedos cafe, voted as the world’s most Instagrammable cafe. This cute brunch spot offers lovely representations of food paired with mesmerizing ocean-side views.
During our visit, we tried their fish and chips and their Caramelised Banana Pancakes. While the fish and chips were good, it was the Caramelised Banana Pancakes that stole the show. The combination of fluffy pancakes, caramelized bananas, and fresh fruits created a truly exceptional dish. What makes Speedos cafe truly stand out is its stunning view. With its prime location directly overlooking the beach, you’ll have the perfect backdrop for your dining experience.
Overall, Speedos cafe is a must-visit if you’re looking for a cute cafe with stunning beachfront views.
Black Star Pastry
Next, Black Star Pastry, located in the vibrant neighborhood of Newtown.
There’s one thing you absolutely must try here: the Strawberry Watermelon Cake. This is Black Star Pastry’s crowning glory with layers of light and delicate almond dacquoise, fresh cream, juicy watermelon, and luscious strawberries combine to create a flavor profile that is simply divine.
And here’s some exciting news! Black Star Pastry has recently launched the Strawberry Watermelon Latte. It’s a reimagined version of their iconic cake in a drinkable form. I had the opportunity to try both the cake and the latte, and while the drink does offer similar flavors to the cake, I have to admit that I still prefer the cake itself. There’s something truly special about the combination of textures and flavors in the cake that is hard to replicate in a drink.
So, if you find yourself at Black Star Pastry, don’t miss the chance to indulge in their famous Strawberry Watermelon Cake. Trust me, it’s an experience that will leave your taste buds singing.
Kingswood coffee
The next is Kingswood coffee, located in the World Square area. What sets Kingswood Coffee apart is their commitment to quality. They roast their own coffee, ensuring that every cup is crafted with precision and care.
Whether you’re a fan of milk-based coffees, such as latte or cappuccino, or prefer espresso and filter brewing methods, Kingswood Coffee has something for everyone. So even though Kingswood Coffee is primarily a takeaway coffee shop, if you find yourself in the World Square area, I highly recommend taking a moment to check it out.
Grounds of Alexandria
The Grounds of Alexandria is an oasis of laneways lush with greenery – worthy spots for Instagram – and a good introduction to your Sydney brunch culture experience. From its aesthetic look to wildlife habitats and its impeccable coffee, The Grounds of Alexandria will surely provide an experience at every turn.
And one of the reasons people come here to The Grounds is actually to see Kevin Bacon, and he’s an absolute star in this particular place. He is probably more famous than the grounds itself, and if you’re visiting, you won’t see Kevin anymore. He is officially and happily retired at a farm.
But for those visiting, do not worry. As The Grounds offers a little piggy straight out of Hogwarts – Harry Tata. Well, isn’t he adorable? There are a few notable spaces here. We’ve got the Potting Shed for its great cocktails and its house resident, Fluffy the parrot. The garden space is for those barbecue lovers, as well as the farmyard that hosts The Grounds’ new star, Harry Potter.
If you’re still seeking variety, then there’s a cafe inside which offers a menu different from the other spaces at The Grounds – from savory dishes to sweet, delicious-looking desserts. They’ve got it all.
Apart from the cafe, they also have the flower shop right behind where they have all the flowers. And during the weekend, which is Saturday and Sunday, they also have a market.
Devon Cafe
Alright, so we are now on our second stop, which is Devon Cafe – a stone’s throw away from Central Station, and you’ve got this gem of a cafe. It’s great because the food looks absolutely stunning for Instagram, but the taste is also absolutely beautiful.
So, tell me, are you ready for this Akuma breakfast?
So, breakfast itself is one of the most popular dishes. This is basically a salmon, cod, and a roe with a three-degree egg. So, it’s a typical Japanese feature. (Music) It’s runny, and I can’t wait to try it. Well, it’s crunchy. Ha-ha, sorry, amazing. Often when you’re seeking photogenic food, the experience lacks in flavor, but our third and final stop, Cup of Flour, combines the impossible, giving you the best of both worlds.
Totoro Flower Cafe
So, the last cafe to talk about is Totoro Flower Cafe, located in Waterloo. And their payment is so this is Totoro chiffon cake. Well, basically, it’s a chiffon cake, but it looks super cute, and everyone just comes here to take pictures, and they’re just inside, inside, inside. And also, we found this – the brown bear. So, he’s like a WhatsApp – sort of like WhatsApp. So, this is one of the characters, which is the brown bear. So cute. So this one is actually chocolate, and mine is green tea. It looks super original. Okay, now we’re going to start eating this guy. I feel so sad, look at the cream, it’s so nice, because it makes it fuzzy. And yeah, you can basically taste the black sesame.
